Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in business education marks a significant shift in pedagogical approaches, yet the psychological mechanisms and contextual factors influencing its effectiveness are not yet fully understood. This registered report-stage I study aims to contribute to the field by examining the impact of AI usage on college students' academic self-efficacy and performance in business courses, with a particular focus on the role of teacher support. Drawing on self-efficacy theory, the study proposes a theoretical framework with 4 hypotheses, and employes field and online experiments to test these hypotheses. By addressing the current gaps in research, this study seeks to contribute to the academic literature on the integration of AI in business education, with a focus on self-efficacy and teacher support. The study not only deepens our understanding of the impact of AI in business education but also underscores the critical role of teacher support in shaping student outcomes in the context of AI integration.
