Abstract

The issue of food safety is an important cornerstone for safeguarding human health and life. Food safety problems caused by biotoxins (animal toxins, plant toxins and mycotoxins) pose a serious threat to human health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop sensitive and efficient methods for detecting trace toxins in food. Porous organic framework materials (POFs), mainly including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), have become a research hotspot in the field of biotoxins analysis by virtue of their high specific surface area, tunable pore structure and potential for functional group modification. In this review, we summarize the design and synthesis strategies of POFs, highlighting their applications in adsorption and detection of mycotoxins and marine biotoxins. And we further explore the future prospects of POFs, such as accelerating the artificial intelligence (AI) in synthesis design of POFs and construction of new detection systems based on POFs. The review could promote the application of POFs in the field of food safety.
