Development of a Conversational AI Intervention for Preventing Illegal Filming Among South Korean Adolescents: A Pediatric Health Perspective.

INTRODUCTION: This study aims to develop a Conversational AI-based illegal filming prevention education program (C-IFPE) for South Korean adolescents, with a focus on enhancing psychological safety and digital well-being. METHODS: The program was developed using the ADDIE model-Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A nationwide survey of 535 middle and high school teachers assessed the perceived need for illegal filming prevention education (IFPE). In-depth focus interviews were conducted with school nurses and counseling teachers who had experience managing real-world illegal filming cases in school settings. Age-appropriate educational content was developed with design features tailored to adolescent engagement. The chatbot was implemented via "KakaoTalk," the most widely used messaging platform among Korean adolescents. A formative usability evaluation was conducted with ten middle and high school students. RESULTS: The Conversational AI chatbot, named No Cam (Stop IF), was reported as accessible and helpful in raising awareness among adolescents during the formative evaluation. Participants found the content relevant and the delivery engaging. CONCLUSION: The C-IFPE showed promise as a feasible intervention to prevent illegal filming and promote digital safety among adolescents. Further research is needed to evaluate its effectiveness across diverse adolescent populations and educational contexts.
