Abstract

Myopia stands as a major threat to the eye health of children and adolescents, impacting their daily lives and academic performance. Early detection and implementation of targeted interventions are critical strategies to prevent myopia onset and slow its progression. Early detection and intervention help prevent and control myopia. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), AI techniques have gradually been applied in the field of myopia prediction among children and adolescents. This article reviews the application of AI methods in myopia prediction, summarizing key areas such as refractive power prediction, myopia screening, analysis of risk factors, myopia control, pathological myopia analysis and prediction of ocular biological parameters. Furthermore, we highlight the major advancements and challenges in the field of myopia prediction for children and adolescents.
