Abstract

Social media has transformed how the public accesses, interprets, and shares health information. In this environment, dermatologists have a critical responsibility to serve as credible social media ambassadors. This article examines strategic digital engagement, including defining purpose, selecting platforms and niches, creating meaningful content, countering misinformation, and upholding ethical standards. Practical guidance on professionalism, consent, conflict disclosure, and responsible artificial intelligence use is provided to support sustainable growth and trust. When approached intentionally, social media strengthens dermatologic education, public trust, and specialty leadership in modern practice.
