Abstract

BACKGROUND: Cadmium (Cd) contamination in soils is a pressing environmental issue due to its toxicity and persistence. Given the diverse geological formations and intensive agricultural activities in Ireland, understanding the distribution and sources of soil Cd is particularly important.
