Abstract

OBJECTIVE: This paper presents the development and clinical evaluation of a foot stretching robot that simultaneously stretches the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon for the treatment of plantar fasciitis. The therapeutic effectiveness of the robot and feasibility of using metatarsophalangeal joint stiffness as an indicator of recovery were identified through the clinical evaluations.
