Abstract

BACKGROUND: Atherosclerosis (AS) is increasingly recognized as a chronic inflammatory disease that significantly compromises vascular health and serves as a major contributor to cardiovascular diseases. KLRD1 is a gene that encodes a protein involved in the immune system, specifically in the function of natural killer (NK) cells.
