Abstract
This article reflects on the key role that primary care must play in promoting physical activity as a central tool for health. Despite decades of international strategies, levels of physical inactivity and sedentary behavior continue to rise. The primary care of the future must move beyond generic advice and advance toward effective, personalized, evidence-based prescription with clinical follow-up. A proactive, digitally integrated, community-connected, and equity-focused model is proposed. Furthermore, a forward-looking approach is outlined, involving technologies such as artificial intelligence, hybrid monitoring platforms, and the prescription of active urban spaces. Overcoming current barriers-such as healthcare workload, insufficient training, or the digital divide-is essential. Physical activity must no longer be an isolated recommendation but a structural, sustainable intervention. Because the future of health begins today, in every consultation, with every step.
