Abstract

BACKGROUND: The use of lumbar puncture for paediatric diagnosis and treatment, such as cerebrospinal fluid sampling and intracranial pressure measurements, is steadily increasing. However, the standard 'blind' technique makes it difficult to attain accurate needle insertion.
