Abstract

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Alpinia japonica, a traditional herb utilized in Miao medicine in southwestern China, has been employed to alleviate symptoms such as stomachache, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, some of these symptoms may be associated with bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract.
