BACKGROUND: Methodological approaches to deep brain stimulation (DBS) continue to evolve from awake frame-based to asleep frameless procedures with robotic assistance, primarily directed to optimize operative efficiency, lead accuracy, and patient comfort. Comparison between the 2 is scarce.
