Abstract

BACKGROUND: Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1α (PGC-1α) plays key roles in controlling cardiac metabolism and function. Myocardial energy expenditure (MEE) can reflect myocardial energy metabolism and cardiac function. Whether the variation of PGC-1α can influence MEE levels in chronic heart failure (CHF) is unclear. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between PGC-1α and MEE.
