Abstract

Intracranial aneurysms, affecting 2% to 3% of adults, present a significant health challenge due to their potential for sudden rupture, which entails high morbidity, mortality, and economic costs. Advances in computational neuroimaging, computational tools, and artificial intelligence (AI) have shifted risk assessment from population-based models to individualized approaches. This review focuses on the impact cerebral aneurysm epidemiology has on risk, emphasizing the integration of clinical risk scales with advanced imaging and AI for enhanced stratification and monitoring. This review advocates for a dynamic, multimodal approach that leverages technological and scientific advances to quantify risk to optimize cerebral aneurysm management and outcomes.
