Abstract

BACKGROUND: The phantom sound of tinnitus can be an extremely debilitating condition. The thalamocortical dysrhythmia (TCD) hypothesis is a feature of subjective tinnitus; however, its consistency in characterizing different types of tinnitus remains unclear.
